The J's First Anniversary in Forest House Baguio
7:57 PM
This post should be subtitled How Forest House Baguio May or May Have Not Ruined Our First Anniversary. Haha! I'd like to share our experience in this hotel. This post contains a combination of good and bad reviews.
In 2011, Jeff and I went to Baguio City after we got engaged. My cousin told me to visit Forest House because they serve good food. We went there but we were informed that we need a reservation to get in. I was a little upset so this time, I made sure we get in. We booked a two-night stay in their bed and breakfast. They made us pay a downpayment for a night which Jeff sent through BPI, and we paid the remaining night there.
One lazy afternoon before the election and after we had a sumptuous lunch for Mothers' Day, my sister-in-law asked if we would want to join them for a foot reflex in Sole 2 Sole. Jeff, who is crazy over having massages, said yes right away.
Sole 2 Sole is owned by some of our family friends, and it is a shame to admit that it is our first time to visit. It is at 70 Aguirre Street in BF Homes. When we came in, the woman in the front desk took our blood pressure. I asked why she had to do it and told us that if the person's blood pressure is high, there is a spot in the foot that they won't press. She also said that if a person is hypertensive, there is a spot that they press harder. Interesting! Foot reflex is science! Haha! My BP is 110/70 and Jeff's is 120/80.
So we headed inside the room with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law. The woman assigned to me put my feet in a basin of hot water and proceeded to massaging my back. After a short back rub, she did my feet. It was one of the best foot massage/reflex I've had! When she presses something, she also tells me which part of the body it affects.
I believe they charge P380 for a 60-minute foot reflex. If you want to know more about Sole 2 Sole, you can call them at 8097374.

Hi Alvin! *please insert feeling close accent here*
How are you? At the moment, I am yet again mending a broken heart because San Mig Coffee/BMeg/Purefoods just lost to Alaska.
I wouldn't say I am your biggest fan. Maybe, I am just one of the many who admire you and your passion for the game. It was back in the early 90's when I was introduced by my father to basketball. He was a frustrated basketball player. I remember I was in kindergarten when I first saw you on TV. Honestly, I thought you looked like my dad, or he looked like you.

That's my father on the left. I hope he won't kill me for publishing his pogi photo. Haha! |
It was a holiday so Jeff and I woke up around 8AM. The first thing I asked him was, 'Anong gusto mong ulam?' He said we should check the fridge and cook whatever.
Jeff's family is a big vegetable eater, so it wasn't a surprise to find a full set of pinakbet ingredients. Except for the stringbeans or sitaw. I asked him to go to the market to buy sitaw, camote fruit, and tomato sauce while I prepare the other ingredients. It is my first time to cook pinakbet but I assumed it was just easy because my mom told me that you just saute everything.
So here's my family's recipe of pinakbet with a twist.

Kidding aside, this really tastes good! |
