And so as my tummy.
We've been keeping this secret since January 20. Until now, my heart still swells everytime I remember that we are indeed blessed with this little surprise.
Yes, after twenty one months of waiting, we are finally pregnant! As of this writing, I am seven weeks pregnant, according to our little Taglet's size during our first ultrasound. Yes, that's what we are going to call him or her while he or she is inside my tummy -- Taglet. Why? Because he or she is our piglet. A Tagle piglet. TAGLET! Haha!
I am not taking my announcement on Facebook because once upon a time, I used to cry on every single pregnancy announcement that I see on my wall. I don't want to bring such pain to those who, like me, are having problems conceiving. I would regularly write about this journey here on my blog and I'll just post links on Facebook. I will not bombard you with ultrasound pictures and morning sickness posts on your feeds.
Friends, we would like to thank those who have kept us in prayers. You guys know who you are but I would like to give special mention to Ria and Ate Duday. These women have always been there with me through this whole struggle. To our family and friends, thank you for understanding and continuing to inspire us. We are asking you to please continue praying for the three of us, especially the little Taglet in my tummy. We can't wait to see him/her in October.
Last year, Jeff and I never ceased on praying for a baby. Last December, Jeff intended to finish nine mornings of Simbang Gabi but he couldn't because I got confined in the hospital. He said that his intention is for a baby this year. I, on the other hand, claimed that we will be pregnant during the first quarter of 2014. It was a realistic one. Three months would be enough time for me to lose weight and get healthier to be pregnant. So imagine my amusement when we got pregnant on the first few weeks of January. God indeed is a great God. We will be forever thankful for this wonderful gift that He gave us.
In the meantime, here are a few more of our announcement photos. I wanted to share all of them because I can't decide which one to post. Haha! We just used blue shoes because that's the only baby shoes that we have at the moment. We still don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet. It was given as a wedding gift by our friend, Carol.
PS. To all my friends who are still praying for a baby, you know Jeff and I are also keeping you in our prayers. Claim that 2014 is your year! Hugs to you and your ovaries!

Before 2013 ended, Jeff told me that we should make a vision board to set our goals for 2014. Giddy about my new stylus, I said I am going to draw mine instead of the normal cut and paste from the magazine. He said he's opting for the cut and paste as he has no talent on the arts department. Well, I don't have much, too. Just so you know, Jeff hasn't made his vision board yet. Haha!
Every woman who gets married dreads this day -- changing her surname. It took me exactly twenty one months to do this. My old passport expired on the day of our wedding and I renewed in November 2012 because we planned to go out of the country in 2013. I still used my maiden name when I renewed because we still don't have an NSO certified marriage certificate.
My mama told me that I was breastfed until I was two years old. I don't remember liking milk because I know that since I was a kid, I was drinking coffee. I remember my dad making me black coffee every morning before I went to school when I was in kindergarten. One summer while we were in Tarlac for our annual vacation, my Lola made us coffee with cream. My life was changed. I never wanted to drink black coffee ever again.
I never thought I'll ever write about cancer. My earliest memory of it is my Tita Bessie, my mom's eldest sister, who was very sick when I was in kindergarten. I didn't know it was cancer until I was in grade school. I can't seem to understand what it was. I just knew she was sick. A few months later, she passed away. It was a blurry memory. I was a kid and I didn't feel the pain of losing a relative. I still didn't know that feeling. Tita Bessie taught me that losing a family member is a sad thing. I didn't know her pain as well.
Late in 2012, my friend Faye was diagnosed with Stage 1 cancer. In February 2013, she had a total hysterectomy. She had her entire reproductive system taken out. She is a survivor. A very brave woman that I will always look up to. You can read her story here.

Taken at Mom and Tina's in Mother's Day. |
Two weeks ago, I joined a bazaar in Eastwood. It was an 8PM to 3AM bazaar because it is in a call center. The next day, I caught a cold, maybe because of tiredness or something. My colds lasted for two days or so.
A week later, I started making grallows to give away for Christmas. These are graham crusted marshmallows that I make into balls. Jeff gave them to his coworkers in Alveo, and my mother-in-law gave them to their village friends. The next day, I baked calamansi cupcakes which we gave to our ninongs and ninangs. I knew I was falling sick, but I never thought it was going to be that bad.
August of last year, I was also brought to the ER. The right side of my cheek was painful and I assumed it was just toothache. Jeff and I went to Chili's in Greenbelt and we both ordered a liter mug of beer. The moment I took a sip of the beer, my entire right cheek felt like it was exploding in pain. Jeff brought me to the MakatiMed ER. The initial findings was sinusitis. So it was not my tooth, it was my sinus. I was given oral pain relievers and antibiotics in the ER.

After two years, I am back to my curly hair! Last Friday, Jeff asked me if I want to go to the salon and have my hair permed again. It was a day after my birthday and I was in a really bad mood. He knew how to cheer me up!
We went to Piandré in BGC, but they don't offer digital perm. I told Jeff we can just go to Red Garlic and eat and we can roam around afterwards. Jeff noticed The List Salon at the corner of Lane P and 7th Avenue and surprisingly, they have digital perming! I went in and reserved an appointment at 2PM.
I never want a normal perming. I hate the Pagoda Coldwave Lotion smell.

Trade School Manila: How to Build a Start Up According to Tita Witty
10:00 AM
It's not much of a secret to my friends that I am trying to start a small business. Last September 19, upon the suggestion of my friend Paula, I attended a class that Trade School Manila conducted at the co.lab in Kapitolyo, Pasig City.
Since I have already shown my left and right ovaries, I might as well share this little secret that I did. I did a Boudoir Doll shoot in 2011.
Yep, that's right. I was a few pounds lighter at that time. Jeff and I just got engaged and I wanted to give him something in return for the ring that he gave me. Haha!
The Boudoir Dolls is a group of women photographers of Imagine Nation Photography. They do shoots like Boudoir Bride, Boudoir You, and Boudoir Bump. It started when my friend Ria, who used to work for Imagine Nation Photography told me about the shoot that she did. So when they had a promo with Ensogo, I bought it right away.
